What is wrong with the idea of iAd →
I agree to the case put forward by Mark Wilson. It will deteriorate user experience. For larger screen devices like iPad, it might be tolerable, but for iPhone it is being a bit too greedy.
Also I think selling your App as Ad Free could turn out to be one of those Freemium models we see on Mac Softwares like Tweetie and NetNewsWire
